Builiding Codes and Regulations

I’m a newbie and plan on building mattone barile next spring and was wondering about how far do you have to be from your existing home to have a pizza oven? I’ve been doing a lot of research and have come to the decision to buy from Brickwood Ovens.

All of your pizza ovens have inspired me and I can’t wait to get started!

You want to be about 5 feet away from a home, trees, bushes, etc. There really isn’t a set distance in the industry - it’s just a generally recommend distance.

I always tell our customers to check w/ their HOA’s and/or city or county requirements prior to building their ovens. I’ve had a couple of customers inquire about Natural or Propane gas kits AFTER they built their beautiful ovens - turns out, their HOA’s have rules regarding the ovens.

This may sound like overkill, but also to check with your homeowners insurance requirements. Several insurance companies have rules about “Solid fuel burning devices” anywhere near the home.

It’s best to check w/ all of these agency’s BEFORE you build a 3000lb pizza oven and base. It’s called CYA - if there are any future issues, you have already covered your bases.

Thanks so much, I’m so excited to build our brickwood oven this coming spring.

It’s going to be a great addition to our outdoor kitchen!
