Hello! Thanks for all the helpful advice on this forum! I just finished putting up my firebrick. My cement blocks underneath look- not the best…did a bad job of cleaning them up Initially. my wife was hoping for more of a confluent color instead of a veneer. Is there something I can put over the concrete blocks? Stucco?
Clean them off first, and yes, stucco is an option. You need a matrix for “hanging” the stucco, just like with the insulation up above. Stucco will be a little more vulnerable in that area to being damaged by hard blows (such as from a piece of firewood), but that’s easily patched.
