If you are building our Cortile Barile or Mattone Cupola, you will want to use the Factory Blend high-temp mortar… preferably in a pail. Since both ovens use very little mortar, we recommend the use of a premixed high-temp mortar like HeatStop II or Sairset by Harbison Walker. Both are available in our online store!
If you are building the Mattone Barile oven, dry / bagged Refractory Mortar or the 4-Ingredient high-temp (and less expensive mortar) works very well for wood-fired ovens.
