The brands of high-temp mortar in my area are different from what you carry. What is a good brand to use?

Refractory brands are very regional. We’ve noticed that brands like HeatStop basically own the North East territory… Able Refractory is a Texas tradition… and Harbison Walker Refractory locations are scattered everywhere across the USA!

While it’s difficult to say “Brand A” is better than “Brand B”, you can always contact the manufacturer of the product in your area to verify the use of their product. Their contact information is usually printed on the product. Speak with one of their sales reps or quality control engineers (not a phone receptionist) and they can tell you if their product is appropriate for the application you are using it for.
