I just purchased a 1300 pound brick oven (the Pizzaioli PREMIUM Brick Wood Fired Pizza Oven). I am building my base now with large tumbled blocks. I found a 4 foot by 4 foot cap stone at Lowe’s that I am considering purchasing for the top of my base. The oven itself has a base built onto it so the cap stone is more to match my work bench and for aesthetics than anything else. Will this capstone handle the weight or should I pour my own concrete top in place?
