Can I use this type of tile to cover my oven?

Hi,

Can I use this ceramic mosaic tile to cover the oven? Does it need to be “Brick” veneer? I think this is meant for bathroom floor.

Absolutely!

You just need to make sure that the stucco shell is super smooth as tile sheets have no “give”. This basically means that any bumps or imperfections on the stucco will reflect in the tile. So, for example, if you have a spot on the oven where the stucco rises a bit, then the flow of the tile will also rise a bit.

  1. Make sure you use a damp construction sponge when smoothing the stucco. You can get a Super-Smooth finish when using a damp sponge and press / mold the stucco into shape.

  2. Make sure the sponge is damp - not soaking wet or dry. To wet and the water in the sponge will be absorbed by the stucco and weaken the bond. If you use a dry sponge, the sponge will soak the moisture out of the stucco like a sponge. Pun intended.
