What type of Mortar should I use to attach the veneer?

I put brick veneer on the front of my oven but had no HeatStop 50.

So I used type S mortar will that be OK? Or will the thin brick fall off?

Using Type S in the front is fine -

It will get warm, but it will not get warm / hot enough to damage the mortar (the veneer is more than fine).

We’ve had many, many customers use Type S mortar for the veneer in the front and along the edge of the hearth cooking surface w/ no issues.
